FRC 2714 “BBQ Robotics” is a FIRST Robotics (FRC) team from the DFW area. As a community team, we are open to all high school age students in the DFW area. We currently have students from The Hockaday School, St. Mark’s School of Texas, Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas, Fusion Academy, Ursuline Academy of Dallas, School for the Talented and Gifted, and a variety of online schools.
Team 2714 is part of BBQ Robotics 501(c)3 a non-profit organization with the goal of creating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programs for students in the Dallas Fort-Worth Area.
BBQ was founded in 2019 by a group of dedicated, experienced students and mentors.
During our team’s first year, we won first place at one district competition and earned second place at both another district competition as well as the Texas State Championship.
We competed in the Greenville district event during the 2020 season before it was cancelled, and won first place at that competition. Continuing into 2021 we worked on the at home challenges, winning the Industrial Design Award and improving our 2020 robot, competing in the Texas Cup offseason event. At the Texas Cup we seeded first in the Lone Star division and competed as finalists, ultimately taking second place overall at the competition. We look forward to future seasons and plan to continue building highly competitive robots.
